No actual doctors, just nurses playing house. For an office with only 3 rooms you would think a patient wouldn't have to wait 40 minutes to get seen (if that short). They prescribe unneccesary medications, forget about many patients, and aren't qualified enough to do anything than a mere strep test. Very dissatisfied.
I started out with Patricia Odom PA after spending a month in NHRMC following a near-fatal NAF MVA at the 17 and HWY 210 (Harriss Teeter). Tricia. Alexis, David (referral person @ the time), and the entire team walked me through one of the worst periods of my life. I had every type of issue you can imagine with a multitude of varying types of referrals needed from Penslow. I was treated so warmly and professionally throughout that period (2013-now). After Tricia left and the change-over took place which may not have gone as smoothly as the new staff would have liked... I met Dr. Christopher McKibbin, MD on my previous visit and. he was very intuitive and patient. Maybe their transition with Wilmington Heath took longer than usual. The responces to the posts here seem to be them taking on the resonsibily of making Penslow a better medial facility.
Don't judge a book by it's cover! This facility was wonderful! I recently saw the NP, Ingrid, and she was tremendous! Short wait, knowledgeable staff, and overall I had a great experience at this clinic :)
I was at Penslow yesterday. I am impressed by the professionalism of all staff. My medical issues were resolved after a very short time spent in the waiting room ( didn't get a chance to finish a magazine article). I highly recommend this facility for all ages.
Patricia Odom leaves her personality at home every time I've ever seen her, very careless of her patients. They called me 5 days later to tell me the x-rays needed to be re-taken after I've been calling for results all week. They told me New Hanover have tried to reach me to retake them, New Hanover is clueless of this issue, Penslow nurse then calls me to tell me results came in and that I needed to go to an emergency walk-in practice and results from the visits there will determine what the next steps are. I drive 1 hr aways to this practice, they cannot see me because Penslow never sent in a referral, I now have to call my insurance myself to have it approved to be seen, to only find out, Penslow sent me to a practice that is only emergency to their active patients or to emergency broken bones/accidents. During all of this, I am told to ice and take tylenol/ibuprofen for pain that escalates daily. Don't use this place as a PCM. They are only good for bandaids and offering prescriptions which will not fix anything.Never convenient for patients. This has happened multiple times with referrals as well. I tried to give this place many chances, but when their own nurses look like they hate their jobs too, kinda hard.
