Nice Pier, but closed for the season. Good amount of fishermen this time of the year. According to the brochure the entry fee to the pier is very expensive. Glad we were here during the time it was closed.

If you like the simple life, this motel is for you. It's not fancy, but it's clean. If you like fishing you have the pier right beside you. Your right on the beach. The beds were so soft. You have a picture window to look out at the ocean. You have your own balcony.

I first stayed at Jolly Roger Inn in 2013 with my two boys. We stayed on the bottom level and didn't have the ocean view but with two little boys, the accessibility was wonderful! In 2014, my boyfriend (now husband) and myself stayed on the second level with our kids and it was AMAZING! We just loved being able to sit out on our balcony and watch the ocean. In 2015, we repeated the same room and had a blast! We have already booked for this year and cannot wait. For the price, you cannot beat staying at the Jolly Roger Inn. The rooms are not fancy but serve the purpose we need because we don't stay in the room much. We don't have a big budget to spend on some ridiculously priced hotel, because we want our budget to go to having fun whether it be fishing off the pier or taking a boat tour. It's a very simple hotel but that is why we stay in Topsail because of how simple the living is there. We did not want a beach or a hotel to be filled with attractions and things, because we wanted to spend quality time with our kids, without distractions. We love it here and will book every summer.

This is a great place to go for a nice break. You can come here to fish or you can just take in the great views. When you get hungry the have a neat little resterount!!!

We have been coming to the Jolly Roger for several years now. The balcony is worth the price! Yes, the rooms are older and could be cleaner, but the beds are being updated and I believe they are updating other stuff like flooring and things too. We love this place and the staff is always friendly. When we go to the beach, we go to the beach. Not there for a fancy room. Yes, you smell fish. If you don't want to smell fish, stay somewhere away from the fishing pier. Our beds were clean and other than the flying bugs, I did not see any bugs (and I am a bug freak, I hate them) If we were going to stay for longer than a few days, I would try to rent a house, but we love Jolly Roger! Hated to leave and can't wait to go back!
